Abstract:

The concept of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) has been proposed for 50 years. During the past half century, it has been well developed in the definition, diagnostic criteria, and technique of treatment for ARDS. China is in consistency with all other countries in the world in implementing ARDS concept and clinical practice.
