Abstract:

Lung transplantation (LTX) is an optimal therapy for end-stage of lung disease. Because of the shortage of donor lung and the failure of LTX assessment timely in patients with end-stage lung disease, a large number of LTX recipients have to receive the life supports and assessments of LTX in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). These recipients always have more postoperative complications. In this way, it is a great challenge for ICU physicians to deliver life support and assessment for the LTX recipients during the perioperation. In this review we will discuss the perioperative managements in ICU, including preoperative evaluation, postoperation complications management and the utility of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), based on the foreign literatures and the experience of our center.

Key words: Lung transplantation, Perioperation, Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
