Abstract:

Since respiratory failure is the main manifestation of early-stage severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients, conservative fluid strategy should be followed, and the fluid balance goal should be set based on hemodynamic monitoring and evaluation. In cases with concomitant shock, fluid management goals should be determined after fluid reactivity assessment. The fluid management in severe COVID-19 patients should be individualized with good coordination between doctors and nurses.
