Abstract:

More and more clinical evidence suggests that circulatory failure rather than hypoxia are a leading cause of death in the critically ill patients with mechanical ventilation. In addition to the ventilator associated lung injury, ventilator associated pulmonary vascular injury and pulmonary vascular failure have been paid more attention. Pulmonary vascular injury and pulmonary vascular failure play an important role in the occurrence and development of circulatory failure in patients with severe mechanical ventilation. In the strategy of circulatory protective ventilation, importance should be attached to the protection and evaluation of pulmonary vascular function.

Key words: Mechanical ventilation, Pulmonary vascular injury, Pulmonary vascular dysfucntion, Circulatory protective ventilation strategy
