Abstract:

Severe sepsis and septic shock are common diseases in critically ill patients. With the clinical implementation of surviving sepsis campaign: International Guidelines for Management of Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock, the mortality of patients with severe sepsis has decreased year by year. The implementation of SSC guidelines has enhanced its compliance which could improve the prognosis of patients with severe sepsis. Therefore, there are several methods to improve compliance of SSC guidelines concerning work-flow management, checklist implementation, improvement of executive ability, optimization of teamwork structure, cooperation, use of ICU resources, and comprehensive measures. Thus the SSC guidelines could be widely used.
