Abstract:

Objective

To investigate ICU nurses' knowledge, belief and behaviors of one-hour sepsis bundle and related factors to improve sepsis care.

Methods

ICU nurses were enrolled conveniently.A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate ICU nurses' knowledge, belief and behaviors about one-hour sepsis bundle.

Results

A total of 1521 ICU nurses from 17 provinces and cities were investigated. The score of knowledge dimension was (9.57±2.70) scores, attitude dimension was (27.96±5.35) scores, behavior dimension was (53.04±6.90) scores, and total score was (90.58±10.60) scores. Univariate analysis of variance showed that there were significant differences in the total scores of knowledge, belief and practice among different seniorities, educational levels and competence levels (P<0.05). Clinically, the main reasons for bundle delay were not getting the medication in time, not being notified in time, etc.

Conclusion

ICU nurses till have some deficiencies in knowledge, belief and behaviors about one-hour sepsis bundle. Nurses with low seniority and educational level need more training.
